Congratulations to the Land Development Department for being selected as the Most Outstanding Country of the Year 2023 in the field of soil. This recognition is attributed to their implementation of the project to develop the Soil Atlas of Asia and National Soil Information Systems (SOIL) under the Asian Food and Agriculture Cooperation Initiative (AFACI) framework.
        The project led by Mr. Satira Udomsri, Director of the Soil Survey and Research Bureau serves as the Principal Investigator (PI) with Mr. Watthana Pathontaworn a specialized soil surveyor from the Soil Survey and Research Bureau, as the Co-PI. The project's objectives include creating a national-level soil map to connect with the soil maps of the Asian region, producing soil profile and property maps of the country, developing a national-level soil information system, and establishing a learning platform for soil-related matters. The collaborative effort to develop soil data at the Asian regional level is expected to contribute to the integration into a global soil database system.
